Go beyond small-talks and become confident in real conversations
The goals:
• Actively participate in meaningful discussions
• Effortlessly formulate your viewpoints and arguments
• Broaden your horizon on new, relevant topics in terms of both language and content
The sessions are for those who:
• struggles to express themselves quickly and eloquently, even though they have completed, or are nearing completing, regular B2 German classes
• enjoys discussing controversial topics with an open mind
What is offered:
• A supportive and non-judgemental peer group
• Engaging discussion topics exploring a range of ethical, social, and political issues
• A German native with a degree in philosophy as tutor and moderator
• Ample opportunities to practice speaking thanks to the small group size (max. 6 participants)
• Regular weekly online meetings to keep the momentum
• Flexible, subscription-free option if you cannot make it every week
• Free trial session to test the concept risk-free

In der jüngsten Vergangenheit wurden sehr viele Facetten von Diskriminierung in unterschiedlichen Bereichen aufgedeckt: im Feminismus oder Queer-Feminiusmus, Rassismus, Sexismus; es ist die Rede von Mikro-Aggressionen, Mansplaining, kultureller Aneignung usf. Recht wenig wird bisher über den sogenannten Speziesismus diskutiert, also der Idee, dass Lebewesen aufgrund ihrer Artzugehörigkeit unterschiedlich bzw. schlechter oder anders behandelt werden. Jüngst ist auf der Documenta 15 in Kassel ein Werk des Zentrums für Kunst und Urbanistik zu sehen, das nahelegt, dass Bienen, obwohl sie entscheidend für die florale Vielfalt und die Ernährung sind, keine demokratische Stimme haben. Mensch und Tier sind sich eben sehr nahe. Doch wie viel Rechte und Pflichten sollten und können wir gesellschaftlich an Tiere abgeben?
